After 30 years in the world of arts with this website Septian Dwi Cahyo is eager to share information and knowledge to raise and develop art and culture of mime particularly in Indonesia. Septian Dwi Cahyo has a noble vision to make mime more than just performing art or a comedy but rather to make mime as a media to preserve culture and as a part of children education to develop and explore imagination and body practicing/exercise.     Started dancing at the age of 8, Septian Dwi Cahyo chose dance rather than karate and basketball at school. It took him 6 years to learn dances from Java, Bali and He even had a chance to learn ballet. Septian Dwi Cahyo have gained the benefits of doing the dance move, it stabilizes the body and mind other than health.

    Drama is the next big thing Septian Dwi Cahyo had studied, He joined Adinda’s Theater and constantly winning in children theater competition at Taman Ismail Marzuki. He joined there for about 6 years. This is where Septian Dwi Cahyo learned the basic of body practice. It is a requirement for an actor to master the body aside to imagination and characterization in order to comprehend the role character. It explores the role as requested. For example, body moves of a director from a huge company is distinct from body movement of a janitor from the same company, janitor will bend to signify respect.

    At the age of 9 after drama Septian Dwi Cahyo studied body practice and imagination known as Pantomime. He was interested in pantomime when he saw PRADEL, France performed an entertaining pantomime. Without equipment or property and words he plays with my imagination as if we could see his words and properties he was using. A new kind of art performance at the time that inspired me made me so eager to explore, so this Little Septian Dwi Cahyo can play people’s imagination on stage to entertain them. With dance and theatrical skills Septian Dwi Cahyo continues developing and performing pantomime.

    Back in 1985, break dance was like viruses spreading worldwide including Indonesia. Every teenagers were competing to be ‘breakers’. There were competition in every district to the nationals and everybody was into it. It was a body practice with upbeat music as the magnet, break dance contains imagination that requires strength and technique all at once. There are techniques known as backspin, windmill and headspin , spin moving with your back, head and shoulder as the axel, describing a fight to knockdown your opponent. Septian Dwi Cahyo won the national competition several times and it made his an extreme ‘breaker‘ combining it with mime moves and unbeatable national champion.

    Rumah Masa Depan as the pioneer in TV Serial produced by TVRI the national television was the most anticipated tv series back at the 1980, Septian Dwi Cahyo played as Bayu the first son of Pak Sukri family who lived in Cibeureum village. His acting in this serial had made him one of the role models for his generation. Other TV Series such as Sengsara Membawa Nikmat and Ali Oncom (nominated in Festival Sinetron Indonesia) and SPONTAN that made him receive awards as ‘a director’ and ‘favorit comedian’ in Panasonic awards.
